One of my all time favorite recipes that never fails to hit the spot is the classic Pimiento Cheese Sandwich. Rooted in Southern tradition, it holds an array of bold flavors and textures that remind me of the down-home comfort dishes I grew up with in the heartland of Nebraska.
Delicious Pimiento Cheese Sandwich

A Tribute to Home

The heartland has a unique way of spinning simplicity into something downright delicious. In this sandwich, the robust taste of sharp Cheddar cheese meets the creamy texture of Monterey Jack. Its richness is offset with the wholesome crunch of your bread of choice, be it white, whole grain, or something else entirely. The diced pimientos bring in that Midwest farm freshness I can’t get enough of. And for added kick, there’s the spirited combination of garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and ground cayenne pepper.

The Health Kick

While delicious comfort food is a must-have, it’s always important to consider the health benefits our meals bring to the table. In our Pimiento Cheese Sandwich, the two types of cheese provide a good amount of protein and calcium. Add in the vitamins in pimientos and your choice of a healthful bread, and you’ve got something nutritionally satisfying to pair with the indulgent flavors.
