What You’ll Need

  • 6 cups of brewed coffee
  • 3 black cardamom pods
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup of sugar (optional)
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
ALLERGENS: Milk

Method

Step One

Start by brewing your preferred coffee. You’ll need 6 cups for this recipe, so adjust the amount of coffee grounds and water accordingly based on your coffee maker’s instructions.

Step Two

While your coffee is brewing, take your 3 black cardamom pods and 2 cinnamon sticks. Crush them lightly in a mortar and pestle to release their aroma and flavor.

Step Three

In a saucepan over medium heat, add the crushed cardamom and cinnamon. Add in 3/4 cup of milk, and heat it until it’s hot but not boiling.

Step Four

Add in 1/4 cup of sugar to the hot milk mixture. You can adjust the sugar according to your taste. If you’d like your coffee to be less sweet, use less sugar or even omit it entirely. Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step Five

When your coffee is ready, pour it into the saucepan with the milk mixture. Stir it well to make sure it’s fully mixed. Then, add one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and give your coffee one last stir.

Step Six

Strain the coffee into cups or a coffee pot to remove the large pieces of cardamom and cinnamon. Your Black Cardamom and Cinnamon Spiced Coffee is ready to enjoy! Serve it hot and enjoy this warm, aromatic drink.
