When I think of refreshing summer beverages, my mind instantly wanders off to my favorite, the Acerola Juice. This tantalizingly tart, yet delightfully sweet drink, packed full of the vibrant Acerola cherries is a departure from my usual lineup of hearty New England-inspired seafood feasts, but an equally loved addition to my repertoire of recipes. Unlike my go-to clam chowder or the crowd favorite lobster rolls that my daughters, Erin and Samantha often rave about, this recipe introduces a lighter and fruity note, a celebration of the sunnier side of culinary spectrum.

Refreshing Acerola Juice

The Health Benefits of Acerola Juice

Acerola cherries, the star ingredient of this recipe, are a nutritional goldmine. These tiny tropical treasures are known for their remarkable levels of Vitamin C, even surpassing that of an orange. Drinking Acerola juice therefore is a great way to boost your immune system, promote skin health, improve vision, and much more.

Combining with Other Delights

Acerola juice, with its vibrant red color and exciting flavor profile, works as a perfect solo act, but it can also be a versatile accompaniment. It pairs beautifully with a variety of other dishes, making it a flexible component in your culinary adventures. Picture enjoying a frosty glass of this refreshing beverage alongside a New England style lobster roll – a surprisingly delightful pairing, where the flavor of the sea dances subtly with the sweetness of the cherries. Beyond my seafood roots, you could also experiment it with spicy Mexican tacos, or add it into your morning smoothie bowl for a tangy twist.

As you sip on this bold, rejuvenating Acerola juice, you can taste the tropical sunshine, the same way the aromatic Atlantic breeze reflects in my seafood specialties. And just like my cooking philosophy maintains – it’s simple, it’s delicious, and it’s an experience in every bite – or in this case, every sip.

So next time you’re in the mood to indulge in a taste that’s a bit outside the ‘lobster box’, give this Acerola Juice recipe a whirl. Trust me, your palette will thank you.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 cups of fresh Acerola cherries
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • 6 slices of lime for garnish (optional)
ALLERGENS:

Method

Step One

First of all, rinse the Acerola cherries under clean water to remove any debris. After that, transfer them into a blender.

Step Two

Add a cup of cold water to the Acerola cherries in the blender. Blend until you get a fairly smooth mixture.

Step Three

Once your mixture is smooth, pour it through a sieve into a large bowl or jug to filter out the pulp and seeds. Press down with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.

Step Four

Now, add a half cup of granulated sugar to the strained juice. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. If you desire a sweeter taste, feel free to add more sugar.

Step Five

Put your Acerola juice inside the refrigerator for some hours until it is chilled. You can also add a few ice cubes if you want it served cold immediately.

Step Six

Finally, serve your Acerola juice in individual glasses and garnish with a slice of lime if you wish. Your refreshing Acerola juice is ready to enjoy!
