Angelica Infused Gin – the very title pronounces both elegance and excitement. This ambrosial concoction, steeped in natural goodness and refreshing flavors, is without a doubt, my most cherished fruit-based creation.

Angelica Infused Gin

Born and raised along the Atlantic coast in Portland, Maine, I found my heart gravitating towards the magnificence of New England seafood. But as a culinary enthusiast, the need to explore and experiment never quite fades away. Enter the marvelous Angelica Infused Gin – a tantalizing blend of earthy notes and zingy citrus, with a sweet nudge from juicy strawberries.

Where Seafood Meets Spirits

While most of my culinary expertise lies in seafood, my Maine roots also instilled in me a deeper passion for the region’s vibrant drink culture. Reminiscent of a sunny, breezy day on the shoreline, Angelica Infused Gin presents a summer’s day encapsulated in a refreshing drink. It pairs wonderfully with classic New England Lobster Rolls or a hearty bowl of Clam Chowder, effortlessly bridging the gap between hearty mains and spirited beverages.

The Healthful Pour

And here’s a delightful revelation – this spirituous potion is not only supremely tasty but also carries noticeable health benefits. Gin, for starters, is low in calories and sugar-free. Angelica root, the star ingredient, boasts of potent anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antimicrobial properties.

The bright notes of vitamin C-rich lemon and orange peels contribute to the overall wellness factor of this drink, while coriander seeds and cardamom pods infuse it with a subtle spiciness and provide added benefits like aiding digestion and boosting immune function. Finally, the strawberries add a dose of antioxidants and a delightful sweetness.

So, here’s why I love the recipe of Angelica Infused Gin. It’s a harmonious blend of natural goodness, tantalizing flavors, and soulful spirits. A taste of New England with a twist – it reflects my culinary journey and my deep-rooted love for my hometown. I invite you to join in the toast next time you’re in the mood for a New England-inspired culinary adventure.

What You’ll Need

  • 3 cups of quality gin
  • 1 cup of angelica root
  • 1/2 cup of fresh lemon peel
  • 1/2 cup of fresh orange peel
  • 1/4 cup of coriander seeds
  • 6 whole cardamom pods
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries
  • 6 cups of ice cubes
  • 6 lemon slices (for garnish)
ALLERGENS: This recipe doesn’t appear to contain any common allergens, though individuals with specific allergies or sensitivities to gin, angelica root, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander seeds, cardamom, or strawberries should avoid this recipe.

Method

Step One

Begin by measuring out the gin, angelica root, fresh lemon peel, fresh orange peel, coriander seeds, and cardamom pods. Ensure that the peels are fresh and free of pesticide residues.

Step Two

Place the angelica root, fresh lemon peel, fresh orange peel, coriander seeds, and cardamom pods into a large, sealable glass jar. Pour the gin over the ingredients in the jar.

Step Three

Seal the jar tightly and shake it well. This helps to mix the ingredients and ensures that the flavors are properly infused.

Step Four

Store the jar in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks. During this time, the gin will take on the flavors of the added ingredients. It is recommended to shake the jar once every few days.

Step Five

After the two-week period, strain the gin to remove the solid ingredients. This should leave you with a clear, flavored gin.

Step Six

Wash and hull the fresh strawberries. Slice them up and add them into the jar containing the infused gin.

Step Seven

Pour the infused gin into a blender and add ice cubes. Blend until well chilled and the ice is crushed to your desired consistency.

Step Eight

Serve the Angelica Infused Gin in glasses, garnished with the remaining fresh lemon slices. Enjoy this refreshing and aromatic cocktail!
