I fell ardently in love with the Antipolo Fruit Salad recipe during my stay in the heart of Philippines. It’s this unique brew of my French elegance and the exotic taste of tropics that sets this dessert apart. Let’s now delve into the essence that makes this dish an absolute delight.

Antipolo Fruit Salad

A Fusion of Tastes

A veritable explosion of flavors, this salad marries a plethora of tropical juicy fruits. The fresh pineapple, mango, and papaya chunks provide a vibrant burst of sweet and tart notes. This melody of flavors dances cleverly with the crisp taste of the seedless grapes, fragrant strawberries, and creamy bananas.

The Creamy Blend of Indulgence

If you think the deluge of flavors ends here, you’re in for a surprise. A silky melody of condensed milk, heavy cream, and cream cheese lends a rich and creamy texture to the salad. However, the lusciousness of the dessert doesn’t overshadow the inherent wellness each ingredient offers. With its variety of fruits, this dessert boasts numerous health benefits. For example, pineapples are loaded with nutrients, antioxidants, and aid digestion; strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, manganese, folate, and potassium. While condensed milk and cream add richness, they also provide a healthy dose of calcium and vitamin D.

Despite being reminiscient of the French fruit tart, the Antipolo Fruit Salad leans more towards a sundae fusion that your dinner guests won’t soon forget. Paired with a delicate white wine, it’s a fitting coda to any meal. Finally, a dusting of granulated sugar, a hint of vanilla extract, and a crunch of walnuts takes the taste to a whole new level. Simplicity – redefined.

A word about the finals touches: the shredded coconut lends a subtle tropical air, an homage to my Creole roots. Meanwhile, chocolate shavings or a drizzle of honey could add an additional twist to your version of the dessert. The experience of Antipolo Fruit Salad indeed doesn’t end with the last spoonful, it lingers on, creating an eternal memory of a dessert well served and shared with your loved ones.

What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup of fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup of fresh mango chunks
  • 1 cup of fresh papaya chunks
  • 1 cup of seedless grapes
  • 1 cup of sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup of banana slices
  • 1/2 cup of condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
ALLERGENS: milk, cream, cream cheese, coconut, walnuts

Method

Step One

Begin by preparing all the fruits. Cut your pineapple, mango, and papaya into bite-sized chunks. Slice your bananas and strawberries, and ensure your grapes are seedless.

Step Two

In a large bowl, combine all of the prepared fruits – the pineapple, mango, papaya, grapes, strawberries, and bananas. Stir them gently until they’re all mixed together.

Step Three

In a separate bowl, start making the dressing for the salad. Combine the condensed milk, heavy cream, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until you get a smooth and creamy mixture.

Step Four

Pour the prepared dressing over the mixed fruits in the large bowl. Stir them gently until all the fruits are coated with the dressing.

Step Five

Add the shredded coconut and chopped walnuts to the salad. Stir everything gently again so that the coconut and walnuts are evenly distributed throughout the salad.

Step Six

Before serving, allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. This ensures that all the flavors have time to meld together. After chilling, serve the Antipolo Fruit Salad and enjoy!
