What You’ll Need

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 6 lettuce leaves

Method

Step One

Begin by preheating your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating up, you can start preparing your burger patties.

Step Two

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. Divide the seasoned ground beef into six equal parts and shape each into a burger patty.

Step Three

Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty and fill with some of the crumbled blue cheese. Fold the ground beef over the cheese and re-shape into a patty ensuring the cheese is in the middle.

Step Four

Once your grill is heated, place the patties on the grill, close the lid, and cook for 4-5 minutes. Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until cooked to your desired level.

While the patties are grilling, prepare the buns and sauces. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, dijon mustard and mix well. Slice the red onion and tomatoes and set aside.

Before the patties are done grilling, place the buns face down on the grill and toast for 1-2 minutes.
