What You’ll Need

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 ready-made pie crust (9 inch)

Method

Step One

Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). This will give you enough time to prepare the pie filling while waiting for the temperature to be just right.

Step Two

Put the 2 cups of fresh blueberries into a saucepan, add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the pan. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Step Three

Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook the mixture until it thickens, making sure to stir it constantly. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Once thickened, remove the pan from the heat.

Step Four

Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of butter to the mixture, stirring until the butter is fully melted and incorporated. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before moving on to the next step.
