About Cinnamon Roll

Allow me to introduce the culinary delight that is Cinnamon Roll. A delicious and fragrantly spiced bread that once you’ve taken a taste, you’ll find hard to resist reaching for another piece. Its ever so slightly gritty texture is a delightful marriage of the dough and the warm cinnamon sugar swirls inside. The perfect companion to your morning coffee or an after dinner treat, Cinnamon Roll is that little bit of comfort you didn’t know you needed so much.

Delicious Cinnamon Roll

Made from the Finest Ingredients

Every outstanding Cinnamon Roll begins with the quality of its ingredients. This bread flour-based marvel includes melted margarine, sugar, eggs, and the magical component, bread machine yeast, that gives the dough its light and airy texture. The flavor is all in the filling, a heavenly mix of brown sugar, softened butter, and of course, an ample amount of ground cinnamon for that signature sweet and spicy taste.

The Topping That Tops It All

And let’s not forget the crowning glory of every Cinnamon Roll— the rich and creamy topping! A blend of softened cream cheese, butter, confectioners’ sugar, and a hint of vanilla extract makes for a luscious topping that oozes into every nook and cranny of the roll once it’s warmed. This sweet nectar rounds out all the flavors and gives this bread its well-deserved reputation as a dessert-like treat.

If you’re a fan of other sweet treats such as apple pie or brownies, you’ll undoubtedly adore Cinnamon Roll. Dare we suggest trying it paired with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream? Or perhaps garnished with a sprinkle of nutmeg? The combination of the warm bread and cold ice cream, all exploding with flavor, would create a version of apple pie à la mode.

But Cinnamon Roll isn’t just a dessert. It also makes a phenomenal companion to savory dishes like chicken pot pie or beef stew. The subtle sweetness of the bread provides a beautiful contrast and can hold its own alongside these hearty meals.

Remarkably versatile, the humble Cinnamon Roll graces breakfast tables, dessert buffets, and dinner menus with equal ease. Whether you choose to start your day with it, end your meal with it, or simply snack on it in the ease of the afternoon, this spiced bread always hits the spot. After all, who can resist the allure of a delicately sweetened roll of bread that invites you to unravel its twists, revealing more and more layers of cinnamon-rich deliciousness?

What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup margarine, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
ALLERGENS: milk, eggs, margarine, wheat (bread flour), butter, cream cheese

Method

Step One

In a bowl, measure out 1 cup of warm milk, and then add the 2 eggs at room temperature and 1/3 cup of melted margarine. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.

Step Two

In a separate larger bowl, prepare your dry ingredients. Mix 4 1/2 cups of bread flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 cup of white sugar and finally add 2 1/2 teaspoons of bread machine yeast. Stir these together until well combined.

Step Three

Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the large bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated. The dough should be slightly sticky but firm. Set aside and let it rise for about 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.

Step Four

Carefully roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle shape. Spread a generous amount of softened butter (1/3 cup) onto the rolled out dough.

Step Five

In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of packed brown sugar and 2 1/2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly onto the buttered dough.

Step Six

Roll up the dough tightly and cut into individual cinnamon roll portions. Place these on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

Step Seven

Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake your cinnamon rolls in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step Eight

While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, cream together 1 package of softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup of softened butter, 1 1/2 cups of confectioners’ sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Step Nine

Once the cinnamon rolls have finished baking, remove from oven and let cool slightly before spreading the prepared frosting over the tops. Serve warm and enjoy!
