Lush vineyards and gilded shores have always been part of my culinary heritage. Way back in Louisiana, I learned how to blend Creole richness with refined French elegance. This rich, storied culture greatly influences my cookery. As such, it always brings me great joy when I create dishes that embody these two distinct yet intertwined worlds. This time, it’s the delightful Garlicky Soybean Spaghetti.
A Nod to My Roots and Beyond
The Garlicky Soybean Spaghetti is an array of all that I hold dear in my gastronomic journey. Aptly incorporating a medley of colorful, vibrant veg, this recipe is not only a visual feast but a culinary delight. Depending on the cook, it could pleasantly remind one of the vigorous Ratatouille of France or the adaptable Primavera of Italy, each packed with an array of vegetables.
Harmonizing Health and Taste
More than its rich flavor, what makes this recipe golden is the consideration of health. It ropes in the nutritional powerhouses; soybeans and garlic. Both could make love to your heart with their cardio benefits. The soybeans, laden with protein and fiber, usher in satiety more naturally, making the dish a great choice for weight management.
The brilliant red bell peppers and cherry tomatoes contribute their share of antioxidants and bisect the heaviness of the spaghetti, leaving you satisfied, not stuffed. The humble lemon’s vitamic C bonus adds to the health glamour of this dish.
Pairs Well with the World
Garlicky Soybean Spaghetti isn’t picky and could accompany an array of dishes. This globally-inspired entrée can sit sidled up to a nice, crisp Caesar salad, or take the reins as the main dish alongside some freshly-baked baguettes. After all, in the culinary arts, as in music, it’s all about improvisation.
So, the next time you are looking for a wholesome, appetizing dish that works well with just about anything, remember the Garlicky Soybean Spaghetti. It’s a testament that meals could holistically gratify the stomach, heart, and soul.
What You’ll Need
- 16 oz Spaghetti
- 2 cups of Cooked Soybeans
- 6 cloves Garlic
- 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 cup sliced Red Bell Peppers
- 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh Basil
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan Cheese for topping (optional)
Method
Step One
Start by cooking the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside, keeping it warm.
Step Two
Next, take a large pan and heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add in the chopped garlic and cook until the garlic becomes fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Step Three
Add the sliced red bell peppers into the pan and cook for a few more minutes, or until the peppers start to soften.
Step Four
Stir in the cooked soybeans, cherry tomatoes, and soy sauce into the mix. Allow everything to simmer together for a couple of minutes to let the flavors mingle.
Step Five
Mix in the warm cooked spaghetti into the pan, and toss to combine everything evenly. Add the lemon juice, and season with salt and ground black pepper according to your taste.
Step Six
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil. Serve the spaghetti in bowls, and sprinkle the optional grated parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
