The Origin of the Loaf

The art of bread-making dates back to ancient history, but our Gluten-Free Bruschetta is a relatively recent innovation. A modern twist to the traditional Italian bruschetta, it reads like poetry on a plate. Slices of gluten-free bread layered with diced tomatoes, minced garlic, a delicate swirl of extra-virgin olive oil, garnished with a sprinkling of fresh basil leaves, a hint of balsamic vinegar, and a final touch of salt and pepper to taste —- a miscellany of ingredients painting a portrait of delicious simplicity.

The Taste, The Texture, The Experience

Taking a bite of this savoury delight is an experience in itself. Every component of the Gluten-Free Bruschetta boasts its own unique flair. The gluten-free bread lends a gentle crispness to the dish, the tomatoes add a juicy tang, and the punctuations of minced garlic and fresh basil leaves weave in enticing aromatics. The coating of extra virgin olive oil, blessed with a dash of balsamic vinegar, unleashes a taste parade that’s nothing short of magical and the sprinkling of salt and pepper seals the favor with a nuanced punch.

The texture is another feast for the senses. The crunch of the gluten-free bread is perfectly balanced with the tender tomatoes, creating a playful dance between crunchiness and softness with every bite. One taste, and it’s much like falling in love. Only, with a dish.

What You’ll Need

  • 6 slices gluten-free bread
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
ALLERGENS: None

Method

Step One

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lay your gluten-free bread slices on a baking sheet.

Step Two

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bread is starting to turn crisp and golden brown. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the bread cool.

Step Three

While the bread is in the oven, prepare your tomato topping. Take your diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil leaves, extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper and combine them in a bowl. Stir everything together until well-mixed.

Step Four

Once the bread has had a chance to cool, spoon a generous portion of the tomato topping onto each slice. Make sure to get plenty of the juice on there as well, as it will soak into the bread and add lots of flavor.

Step Five

After all the bread slices have been topped, you’re ready to serve. This dish is best enjoyed immediately, while the bread is still warm and the tomato topping is fresh.
