About Gluten-Free Ciabatta
Our masterpiece, the Gluten-Free Ciabatta, is crafted with love and passion to give you a delightful taste without compromising your dietary requirements. This Italian classic bread has been reimagined to fit gluten-free needs, using only the finest ingredients. Its texture and flavor will leave your taste buds wanting more, from the first bite to the last.
The Secret Behind its Magic
What makes our Gluten-Free Ciabatta outstanding is the balance of unique ingredients and carefully perfected cooking techniques that bring its delectable flavor to life. Starting with warm water and sugar, we activate the dry yeast for an hour. We then blend our gluten-free flour with xanthan gum, baking powder, and salt to achieve the bread’s signature light and airy texture.
Serving Suggestions
This hearty bread pairs exceptionally well with a variety of meals. It complements Provençal Tomato and Squash Gratin, offering a canvas for the dish’s vibrant flavors. Use it to scoop up a hearty serving of Classic Minestrone or to sandwich slices of cheese, meats, or greens. Not to forget its fantastic pairing with good quality olive oil and coarse sea salt, creating an essential starter for any Italian dining experience.
Our Gluten-Free Ciabatta shares similarities with other famous Italian bread such as Focaccia, another gluten-free alternative. However, the taste and texture of our ciabatta – with its signature crust and moist, airy center – have been so well-received by our patrons that we consider it one of a kind.
Ensuring High Quality
We understand the importance of maintaining a gluten-free diet without sacrificing quality and taste. That’s why our Gluten-Free Ciabatta is made with top-tier ingredients and utmost attention to detail. Every whisk, stir, and knead goes into creating a bread that will leave you coming back for more.
Enjoy our Gluten-Free Ciabatta, baked fresh daily. The aroma of bread baking in the oven, its warm, crusty exterior, and tender, airy inside will capture your senses, adding a memorable touch to your culinary endeavors.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons dry active yeast
- 3 cups gluten-free flour
- 1 teaspoon xanthan gum (omit if your flour blend includes it)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Additional olive oil for brushing on top
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling on top
Method
Step One
Begin by combining the warm water and sugar in a small bowl. Stir the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved. After that, sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for around 5 to 10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
Step Two
In a separate large bowl, mix together the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum (unless your flour blend already contains it), salt, and baking powder.
Step Three
Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients. Then, pour the yeast mixture, apple cider vinegar, eggs, and olive oil into it. Gently stir these ingredients until they are thoroughly mixed together.
Step Four
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it gently for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add more flour if necessary to make a soft dough. It should be slightly sticky but not too much that it’s unmanageable.
Step Five
Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Leave it to rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Step Six
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Then, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pat the dough into a loaf shape. Brush extra olive oil on top of the dough and sprinkle it with coarse sea salt.
Step Seven
Bake the Ciabatta for about 25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when you tap the bottom. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
