Every time I prepare Grilled Steak with Parsley Butter, it takes me back to the lively streets of Miami, where cultures blend in a delicious mosaic of flavors and sounds. This dish, much like myself, dances between the vibrant Caribbean influences and hearty Spanish fare that ground me in both worlds.

Infused with the irresistible summery freshness of citrus and parsley, this delicacy is undisputedly one of my favorites. Not only does it pack a flavorful punch, it also carries health benefits as parsley is rich in antioxidants and vitamin K, while lean cuts of steak like the Rib-eye contains essential amino acids and proteins.

Grilled Steak with Parsley Butter

Spanish Roots with a Twist

Ah, the simplicity of good steak, right? But this is not your usual steak fare. The Grilled Steak with Parsley Butter echoes with the robust flavors of an age-old Spanish recipe, but with its lively lemon zest magnifying the steak’s intrinsic savoriness, it flaunts a daring twist. The butter, along with the acidity from the freshness of lemon, coaxes out the fullness of the steak’s flavor, making it not only a delight for the taste buds but also an experience for the senses.

The tapas of my homeland also inform this recipe quite a bit. It’s a dish that could stand on its own brilliance, but would equally feel at home in a spread of finger foods best enjoyed over lively chatter and the clinking of glasses.

A Perfect Kitchen Dance Partner

Like a dance solo, this dish stands on its own. But equally, it yearns to perform a passionate salsa with a bevvy of accompanying dishes. Consider pairing this with a light salad of mixed greens, perhaps with a hint of citrus or berries. Or even Cuban-style rice: the savory steak, the vibrant butter, and the aromatic rice interplay in a symphony of flavor, each complementing the other yet each having its own moment to shine.

So next time you’re in the mood for a culinary trip to Miami’s vibrant streets or the sunny coasts of Spain, consider the Grilled Steak with Parsley Butter. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

What You’ll Need

  • 3 pounds of boneless Rib-eye steak
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of canola oil
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
  • Grill or barbecue for cooking
ALLERGENS: Rib-eye steak, canola oil, unsalted butter

Method

Step One

First, preheat your grill or barbecue to high heat. In the meantime, season the Rib-eye steaks generously with sea salt and black pepper.

Step Two

Take a frying pan and heat the canola oil over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned steaks and sear them on both sides until they get a nice brown color. This will take about 2-3 minutes per side. Then move them to the preheated grill or barbecue.

Step Three

Cook the steaks on the grill until they reach your desired level of doneness. It will take about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Step Four

While the steaks are resting, prepare the parsley butter. Mix the softened unsalted butter, finely chopped fresh parsley, minced garlic cloves, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice in a bowl. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.

Step Five

Spread the parsley butter over the warm steaks, letting it melt slightly. Serve the Grilled Steak with Parsley Butter immediately for the best taste and enjoy your meal!
