There’s something simply delightful about a dish that encapsulates the comforting warmth and flavorful depth of traditional recipes. The Horseradish Cream Sauce for Prime Rib is that kind of dish. It takes me back to my roots in Charleston, South Carolina, where fresh ingredients and secret family recipes are the norm rather than an exception. And what a delicious norm it is!
Marrying The Best of Both Worlds
As a Southern belle, I’ve always had a tender spot for dishes that bring you warmth and comfort; and prime rib, served with our special horseradish cream is one of those dishes. This sauce is a seasoned spin on classic Southern dips, such as remoulade or comeback sauce. However, the unique bite of the horseradish truly sets this one apart. This recipe is not just about marvelous flavors though, the horseradish also comes with a handful of health benefits, including increased digestion and a boost to your immune system.
A Versatile Star Of The Show
Despite its name, this Horseradish Cream Sauce for Prime Rib is perfect for far more than just roasted meats. While it’s true that the sharp, tangy flavor profile of horseradish and sour cream lift the rich, juicy prime rib to whole new heights, this versatile condiment works wonders with a variety of seafood dishes as well. This nod to my coastal Southern background complements fresh grilled shrimp, crab cakes, or even a piece of seared salmon. It can also be served alongside your favorite vegetable dishes for a more veggie-centric meal – affording a fresh, zesty contrast that may well make you see greens in a whole new light.
If only we could catch a movie while enjoying a dish – because that’s our other love here, isn’t it? In the meantime, whip up this sauce and let it transport you to the aromatic kitchens of the South, even if for a little while.
