Lavender and Lemon Baked Salmon

Drawing from my penchant for farm-to-table freshness, this dish showcases salmon fillets which are not just incredibly delicious but loaded with heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. It’s a reflection of my upbringing in the heartland of Nebraska, where we valued fresh, wholesome ingredients, and took the time to savor every bite.

The Uniqueness of this Dish

The Lavender and Lemon Baked Salmon Recipe is reminiscent of the comfort we see in classic Midwestern dishes like corn casserole or beef stew, but with a bright, aromatic twist. The preparation brings out the best in the succulent salmon, with an infusion of vibrant lemons and the floral crest of lavender. The honey offers a subtle sweet complement, while the sizzle of the olive oil ties everything together in a divine culinary matrimony.

Whether it’s a weeknight dinner, a special occasion, or a Sunday meal after church, this dish feels at home in any setting. Its ease of preparation and impressive flavor profile make it a versatile choice for any seafood lover.

Pairing Suggestions

This recipe pairs wonderfully with a crisp garden salad, or a vibrant side of roasted green beans with lemon and walnuts. For a flavorful combination, consider serving it alongside roasted vegetables or creamy polenta. This dish is not only a burst of colors and flavors on the plate but it’s a nutritional powerhouse as well.

As we continue exploring and sharing recipes, I hope this Lavender and Lemon Baked Salmon not only leaves an unforgettable flavor in your mouth but also captures the sweet nostalgia that continues to inspire my culinary journey.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 lbs of salmon fillets
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lavender, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
ALLERGENS: Fish, Citrus

Method

Step One

The first step is to preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step Two

Next, take your salmon fillets and season them liberally with salt and pepper on both sides. Set them aside.

Step Three

Afterward, take one of the lemons and chop it into thin slices. Place these slices across a lined and greased baking sheet.

Step Four

Now, place your seasoned salmon fillets over the layer of lemon slices on the baking sheet.

Step Five

Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and honey. Then, sprinkle the finely chopped fresh lavender all over the fillets.

Step Six

Squeeze the juice from the second lemon over the salmon fillets. This will give them a fresh citrus kick.

Step Seven

Finally, put the salmon in the preheated oven. Let it bake for around 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. They are done when they’re flaky and thoroughly cooked.

Step Eight

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the salmon cool a bit before serving. Enjoy your delicious Lavender and Lemon Baked Salmon!
