What You’ll Need

  • 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of dried Mexican oregano
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of finely grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup of dried figs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of dried apricots, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of dried dates, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of orange zest
  • 1/2 cup of roasted pistachios, chopped (optional)

Method

Step One
