What You’ll Need

  • 2 large breadfruits
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
ALLERGENS: Honey

Method

Step One

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is heating up, take your breadfruits and cut them into halves. Remove the core and the outer skin.

Step Two

Place the breadfruit halves on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil and ensure every part of the breadfruit is covered. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over all the halves.

Step Three

Pop the baking sheet into the oven and let the breadfruit roast for about 20 minutes or until it is soft and slightly golden brown.

Step Four

While the breadfruit is roasting, prepare your honey glaze. In a small bowl, combine the honey, lime juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.

Step Five

Once the breadfruit is fully roasted, remove it from the oven and immediately brush the honey glaze on each of the four halves. Ensure to cover all the surfaces with the glaze.

Step Six

Return the glazed breadfruit to the oven for another 10 minutes, or until the tops are caramelised and slightly crispy.

Step Seven

Remove the tray from the oven and allow the breadfruit to cool before serving them. Enjoy your Roasted Breadfruit with Honey Glaze as a delicious treat or as a side dish with your favourite meal.
