What You’ll Need
- 6 cups of water
- 6 whole star anise
- 3 sticks of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 2 oranges, juiced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Thinly sliced orange peel for garnish
- Thinly sliced lemon peel for garnish
Method
Step One
Start by pouring 6 cups of water into a large pot. Set it on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to reach boiling point.
Step Two
Once the water is boiling, add 6 whole star anise and 3 sticks of cinnamon to the pot. Lower the heat and let this simmer for 10-15 minutes to infuse flavours.
Step Three
After that, add 1/2 cup of honey to the pot. Stir well to dissolve the honey in the water. Let this mixture simmer on low for another 5 minutes.
Step Four
Next, add the juice of 2 oranges and 1 lemon to the pot and stir them into the mixture. Let this continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step Five
Strain the tea into a teapot or directly into cups, discard the spices. Serve the tea hot.
Step Six
Garnish each serving with thinly sliced orange and lemon peels, and serve warm. Your Star Anise-Cinnamon Tea is ready to enjoy.
