What You’ll Need

  • 1.5 lbs of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of Paracress, chopped
  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 green bell pepper, julienned
  • 2 medium-sized carrots, julienned
  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
  • Steamed white rice, for serving
ALLERGENS: Shrimp, soy, oyster

Method

Step One

Start by preparing all your ingredients. Peel and devein the shrimp. Chop the Paracress, mince the garlic, julienne the bell peppers and carrots, and slice the onion. Dissolve the cornstarch in water and set it aside.

Step Two

Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and sauté until it becomes fragrant.

Step Three

Add the onions, carrots, and bell peppers into the pan. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened. Remember to stir constantly to avoid burning.

Step Four

Next, add the shrimp to the pan. Cook until they turn pink and are cooked through, this should take around 5-7 minutes.

Step Five

Stir in the chopped Paracress and continue to stir-fry for another minute or so.

Step Six

Mix in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and ground black pepper. Stir well to make sure all the ingredients are evenly coated.

Step Seven

Add in the dissolved cornstarch. Stir the mixture continuously until the sauce has thickened.

Step Eight

Your Stir-Fried Shrimp with Paracress and Garlic is now ready to serve! Serve it hot over a bowl of steamed white rice.
