A Pizza with a Twist
Our Stone Parsley and Garlic White Pizza borrows its charm from the core principles of Italian cuisine – simplicity and quality of ingredients. Highlight it delivers a unique taste heritage that marries the richness of three kinds of cheese with the bold flavors of garlic and a hint of earthy delight from the stone parsley. Yet the crown of this recipe lies in its use of stone fruits, which lends a delightful punch, a sweet surprise amidst the gooey, savory goodness.
Friends & Pairings
Given the beautiful contrast of flavors in the Stone Parsley and Garlic White Pizza, this could be likened to an upgraded version of a classic Margherita or White Pizza, with a clever nod to the Pacific Northwest with the inclusion of stone fruits. Because of these juicy, sweet tidbits, our pizza pairs wonderfully with a bonafide gastronomical buddy – a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine’s fruity nose and vibrant acidity mirror the pizza’s refreshing charm, making for a perfect wine-and-dine experience.
Health Benefits From Every Slice
Not only does the Stone Parsley and Garlic White Pizza offer a sublime taste experience, but it also presents a wealth of health benefits. The cheeses are a good source of calcium and protein, while the garlic, aside from bringing in a robust flavor profile, is known for its heart-friendly properties. Adding olive oil only amplifies these heart benefits as it is rich in monounsaturated fats, while the stone fruits are an excellent source of vitamins and dietary fiber, rounding out a dish that is as nutritious as it is delicious.
Modesty aside, having spent a significant part of my life in both Seattle and Japan, I’ve come to appreciate the natural bounty of both regions and the unique flavors they bring to the table. Every recipe I curate is a personal journey with a delicious destination, and the Stone Parsley and Garlic White Pizza is no exception.
What You’ll Need
- 1 pizza dough
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup of ricotta cheese
- 6 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons of fresh stone parsley, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of sliced stone fruits (peaches, plums, apricots)
Method
Step One
Start by preheating your oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit (240 degrees Celsius). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it’s preheating.
Step Two
While your oven is preheating, prep your pizza dough by stretching it out on a lightly floured surface until it reaches your desired thickness. If you’re using a pizza stone, place your stretched pizza dough onto a pizza peel or a sheet of parchment paper. If not, arrange your pizza dough on a baking sheet.
Step Three
Brush the olive oil evenly over the stretched pizza dough. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the oil, distributing it evenly. This will form a base for your other toppings.
Step Four
Spoon ricotta cheese onto the garlic and olive oil base. Spread it around evenly, leaving a small border for the pizza crust. After that, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the ricotta.
Step Five
Next, add the sliced stone fruits over the cheese. Try to distribute them evenly across the pizza. Sprinkle the minced stone parsley over the fruits, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.
Step Six
Season your pizza with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step Seven
If you’re using a pizza stone, carefully slide your pizza onto the preheated stone in the oven. If not, simply place your baking sheet in the oven. Bake your pizza for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Step Eight
Once your pizza is finished baking, carefully remove it from the oven. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
