What You’ll Need

  • 2 pounds fresh tuna steaks
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons wasabi paste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 large avocados, peeled and sliced
  • 2 large mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 6 cups fresh mixed salad greens
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
ALLERGENS: Fish, soy, sesame

Method

Step One

Firstly, place the tuna steaks in a dish. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, wasabi paste, olive oil, and lemon juice. Pour half of this mixture over the tuna steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes. Reserve the rest of the mixture for later.

Step Two

After the tuna has marinated, heat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the tuna steaks for about 3 minutes for each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Once they’re cooked, remove them from the grill and allow them to rest.

Step Three

While the tuna is resting, slice your avocado and mango into thin slices. Do the same with your red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and cucumber.

Step Four

On a large platter, arrange your fresh mixed salad greens. Then, top this with your sliced avocado, mango, red and green bell peppers, and cucumber. Slice the grilled tuna into thin slices and spread them over the salad.

Step Five

As a final touch, sprinkle the salad with toasted sesame seeds and season it with salt and pepper to your preference. Pour the rest of the wasabi, soy, olive oil, and lemon juice dressing over the salad just before serving.

Step Six

Serve the Wasabi Tuna Salad immediately for the best taste and enjoy your vibrant, fresh, and flavorful meal!
