It brings together the bold, tantalizing flavors of tropical fruits with the surprising zest of Araza, a lesser-known South American gem. I love how the sweetness of the Araza fruit intertwines with the tartness of pineapple, the tangy strawberries, and the subtle sweetness of mango and kiwi. Fresh mint leaves and a splash of lime juice adds an invigorating twist, while a drizzle of honey muddles sweetness into every delicious bite.

I find that the Araza fruit salad pairs brilliantly with a wide variety of other dishes. Whether it’s served alongside Fish tacos with wasabi tartar sauce or as a dessert after a hearty miso vegetable and tofu stir-fry, its vibrant flavor profile compliments, rather than competes.

What You’ll Need

  • 3 cups of Araza fruit, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup of strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup of pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup of mango, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
ALLERGENS: Strawberries, kiwis, pineapple, mango, honey

Method

Step One

Begin by preparing all the fruits. Peel and dice the Araza fruit, hull and slice the strawberries, and make sure the blueberries are clean. Then, peel and slice the kiwis. Peel and chop the pineapple and mango into bite-sized pieces.

Step Two

In a large serving bowl, combine the diced Araza fruit, sliced strawberries, blueberries, sliced kiwis, chopped pineapple, and chopped mango. Gently toss all the fruit together until it’s well-mixed.

Step Three

Next, finely chop the fresh mint leaves. Sprinkle these over the mixed fruit in the serving bowl.

Step Four

In a small bowl, combine the honey and the juice of one lime. Stir this mixture together well, until the honey is fully dissolved in the lime juice.

Step Five

Pour the honey-lime mixture over the fruit and mint in the serving bowl. Toss everything together until the fruit and mint are evenly coated in the honey-lime dressing.

Step Six

Let the Araza Fruit Salad chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully. Enjoy your refreshing and delicious fruit salad!
