What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup fresh blood orange juice
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Step One

Begin by squeezing fresh blood oranges until you have 1 cup of juice. Set this aside for later.

Step Two

In a large bowl or mixer, combine the 1/2 cup of extra-virgin olive oil and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar.

Step Three

Add the 2 tablespoons of maple syrup to the bowl and stir until it’s incorporated.

Step Four

Next, mince 2 cloves of garlic and add these to the bowl. Stir to combine.

Step Five

Stir in 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Ensure it’s thoroughly mixed into the mixture.

Step Six

Add the previously set aside blood orange juice to the bowl and stir well.

Step Seven

Finally, season your vinaigrette with salt and pepper to taste. Keep in mind the vinaigrette’s flavor will intensify over time, so do not over salt!

Step Eight

Thoroughly mix your vinaigrette and serve as desired!
