Nothing warms my heart and kitchen more than the harmonious blend of sweet and savory found in my Cranberry Glazed Turkey Breast recipe. From the succulent turkey meat basking in the tangy-sweet glaze to the aromatic notes bursting from each bite, this dish truly represents my culinary philosophy: to merge the energizing freshness of the West Coast with the cosy, delicious comfort of American classics.
The Perfect Fusion
This recipe is for everyone who, just like me, loves to stay healthy without compromising on savoring their food. The key here is balance. I vividly remember growing up amongst the fertile valleys of California, where food was not just seen as a means of survival, but rather an expression of love, health, and our environment’s nourishment. Every ingredient in this dish tells a story – from the juicy turkey, rich in lean protein and essential nutrients, to the antioxidant-packed cranberries and vitamin-rich orange juice. It’s a fusion of flavors that reminds us of the bounty of nature and our responsibility to consume it mindfully.
A Festive Family Feast
Having three beautiful adopted children, one of my driving forces in curating such recipes is to make meal-times more than just eating. It’s about making memories, teaching love for food, nutrition, and togetherness. The Cranberry Glazed Turkey Breast, with its bold flavors and festive hue, is reminiscent of holiday gatherings, and makes any regular day feel like a special occasion. It’s a dish that’s meant to be savored slowly, appreciating the rich fusion of flavors while gathered around the table with loved ones.
Pair this delightful turkey breast with a crisp, green salad or roasted fall vegetables for a well-rounded meal. It’s quite similar to traditional roast turkey, but the addition of cranberry and orange gives it a tangy twist that takes the flavor profile to new heights. If you love experimenting and delighting your family with unique, delicious dishes, then this recipe is for you.
In the spirit of health-consciousness, remember to choose a quality, farm-raised turkey and complement this course with a glass of your favorite Pinot Noir – the light acidity and fruit-forward notes of the wine perfectly cut through the rich, flavorful glaze of the turkey. Cheers to great food and even better health!
What You’ll Need
- 3 lbs turkey breast, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional garnish: fresh cranberries and orange slices
Method
Step One
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While waiting for the oven to heat up, take your turkey breast and season it on all sides with salt and black pepper.
Step Two
Take a large oven-safe skillet and heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the turkey breast (skin side down if it has skin) into the skillet and sear for about 5 minutes until the side is browned. Then flip the turkey over to sear the other side for another 5 minutes.
Step Three
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, orange juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and dry mustard to create the glaze.
Step Four
Brush the turkey breast with a generous amount of the cranberry glaze. Once the glaze is applied, place the skillet in the preheated oven. Bake for about 60 to 70 minutes, basting the turkey with the glaze every 20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step Five
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute. Arrange the sliced turkey on a serving platter.
Step Six
If desired, garnish the turkey with fresh cranberries and orange slices for additional flavor and presentation. Serve and enjoy your Cranberry Glazed Turkey Breast!
