Method

Step One

First, prepare your ingredients. You will need 4 cups of fresh grape juice, 7 cups of granulated sugar, one packet of fruit pectin (about 1.75 ounces), and 1/2 teaspoon of unsalted butter.

Step Two

Pour the grape juice in a large pot and heat it on medium heat until it is warm. While heating, gently stir the juice to ensure it heats evenly.

Step Three

Next, add the fruit pectin to the warm grape juice, continue to stir ensuring the pectin is completely dissolved. Keeping stirring until the mix comes to a full rolling boil.

Step Four

Add in the granulated sugar slowly, stirring continuously to ensure it fully dissolves. Add the unsalted butter, stir continuously, until the mix comes back to a full rolling boil. It’s important to keep stirring to prevent any burning at the bottom of the pot.

Step Five

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow the mix to simmer. Continue stirring for about 10 more minutes or until it thickens to a jelly-like consistency.

Step Six

Remove the pot from heat and let the mix cool slightly. Then, pour the mix into jars and seal them while still slightly warm. Allow the jelly to cool completely at room temperature before refrigeration.
