Guyabano Smoothie

Nature’s Bounty in a Glass

At first sip, this smoothie is refreshingly tangy, with a sweet undertone that lingers in your palate. The guyabano, or soursop, is an exotic fruit that hails from the tropics, much like coconut or mango. It boasts a creamy texture, complemented by the Greek yogurt and bananas in our recipe, delivering a blend that is as soothing as a quiet afternoon surf. Yet, underneath its playful exterior, the guyabano is a force to be reckoned with. Known for its rich assemblage of vitamin C, it’s an excellent immune booster. Plus, its antioxidant properties may help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body.

Perfect Partner to Southern Cuisine

Many might think that this tropical smoothie is a far cry from my Southern roots, but the beauty of food is in its versatility. While it might not share the same birthplace as fried chicken or biscuits, it marries well with these favorites. It’s refreshing after a hearty meal, much like a sweet tea on a summer day. And if you’re in for a seafood feast? It’s just as delightful. Think of it as the tropical mojito to your low-country boil, a harmonious blend of down-home and exotic flavors.

Many compare the taste of guyabano to a blend of strawberry and pineapple, with otherworldly creaminess to boot. That’s why this smoothie could squeeze into any meal where you’d traditionally serve these fruits. Try it along with your favorite pancake breakfast, or use it as a palate cleanser in a multi-course dinner.

So whether you’re a Southern belle or a seaside surfer, be sure to add the Guyabano Smoothie to your repertoire. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Step One

Prepare your fresh guyabano (soursop) by seeding and cubing it. You’ll need about 3 cups.
