Health Benefits

The jalapeños bring more than just a fiery kick—they are packed with vitamins A and C, along with capsaicin, which has been known to boost metabolism and reduce inflammation. The pickles and tomatoes add another layer of freshness and nutrients to the mix. Red onions are rich in antioxidants, making this dish not just tasty, but also beneficial for your well-being.

Ground beef offers high-quality protein, which is essential for muscle maintenance and growth, while the sharp cheddar cheese provides calcium along with a divine creaminess. When paired with whole grain or seeded buns, you can add an extra nutrient punch with fiber and B vitamins.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 6 slices of tomato
  • 6 slices of pickles
ALLERGENS: Dairy, Wheat, Soy, Fish

Method

Step One

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, finely chopped jalapeños, finely chopped red onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to mix the ingredients until they are evenly distributed.

Step Two

Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.

Step Three

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once heated, place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for a well-done burger. Cooking time can be adjusted based on your desired level of doneness.

Step Four

During the last minute of grilling, place the hamburger buns on the grill to toast them lightly. Remove the buns and patties from the grill once done cooking.

Step Five

Assemble your burgers by placing each patty on the bottom half of a toasted hamburger bun. Top each patty with a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of pickle. Finish by placing the top half of the bun on each burger.

Step Six

Serve the Jalapeño Cheddar Burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
