Kiwifruit and Avocado Guacamole

The Inspiration Behind Kiwifruit and Avocado Guacamole

Coming from a colorful Louisiana backdrop blended with the elegance of my French lineage, I’ve developed an innate love for recipes that twist tradition with an unexpected delight. Guacamole, traditionally a Mexican dish made predominantly from avocados, pairs wonderfully with main courses like Mexican Chicken Burritos or light appetizers like Shrimp Spring Rolls. Adding Kiwi to our delectable guacamole infuses it with a vibrant, fruity punch that lifts the dish to new levels of taste euphoria.

What’s more, this Kiwifruit and Avocado Guacamole recipe is good for more than just the soul- it’s a celebration of wellness. What You’ll Need

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 3 kiwifruits, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, diced
  • 2 jalapenos, seeds removed and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag tortilla chips for serving
ALLERGENS: Avocado

Method

Step One

Start by preparing the ingredients. Peel and dice 3 kiwifruits, finely chop 1 medium red onion, dice 2 medium-sized tomatoes, remove the seeds and finely chop 2 jalapenos. Next, finely chop 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro and mince 2 cloves of garlic.

Step Two

Cut open the ripe avocados and remove the pit from the center. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh and put it into a large bowl. Mash the avocados using a fork or a potato masher, until you achieve a consistency you prefer. You can make it chunky or smooth according to your taste.

Step Three

Once the avocados are mashed, you can add in the previously prepared ingredients. Combine the diced kiwifruits, red onion, tomatoes, jalapenos, and garlic into the bowl with the avocado.

Step Four

Next, add in 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice to the mixture. The lime juice will add a vibrant taste and also prevent the avocados from going brown.

Step Five

Season your guacamole with salt and pepper according to your taste. After adding the seasoning, gently stir all the ingredients together until they’re well mixed.

Step Six

Place your guacamole in the fridge for 1 hour before serving, this allows the flavors to blend together. Serve the guacamole with a bag of tortilla chips and enjoy!
