What You’ll Need

  • 1½ cups of fresh loganberries
  • 3 medium-sized apples
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup of rolled oats
  • ½ cup of light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Method

Step One

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. After that, prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by lightly greasing it.

Step Two

Rinse the fresh loganberries and 3 medium-sized apples under cold water. After, chop the apples into small pieces.

Step Three

In a large bowl, combine the loganberries, apples, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step Four

In a separate bowl, combine the 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ⅔ cup of rolled oats, ½ cup of light brown sugar, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Mix well to combine.

Step Five

Add 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter cut into small pieces and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the flour mixture. Combine using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Step Six

Scatter the crumble mixture over the fruit in the baking dish, covering as much of the fruit surface as possible.

Step Seven

Bake the crumble in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
