When I think of a Lychee Martini, it whisks me away from the familiar plains of Nebraska to a place decidedly more tropical. Sure, my roots run deep in classic Midwest fare, but every so often, I like to put a twist on the traditional and introduce something unique to my repertoire. Our Lychee Martini recipe does just that.

A beautifully garnished Lychee Martini

The Inspiration behind Lychee Martini

Why Lychee Martini, you might ask? Well, it pairs beautifully with the affordable comfort food I usually whip up, providing a delightful touch of luxury. Alongside a hearty beef stew or a comforting corn casserole, this elegant cocktail offers a refreshing counterpoint.

Not to mention its health benefits! While it’s definitely a treat, this cocktail harnesses the power of lychees, a small fruit packed with vitamin C (source). Incorporating fruits into our diets, even through a delectable martini, is a step in the right direction for health and well-being.

How Lychee Martini Complements Food

The sweet and tangy taste of Lychee Martini works amazingly with spicy dishes. Consider pairing it with spicy Asian cuisines like Spicy Thai Chicken and Brown Rice Bowls or Spicy Szechuan Chicken Stir-Fry. Alternatively, it can also serve as a fantastic companion to any BBQ dishes, creating a beautiful balance between smoky and sweet.

Whichever way you decide to serve it, this cocktail recipe is bound to be an absolute showstopper in any gathering. The luscious lychee, combined with the tang of lime and kick of vodka, makes for an unforgettable cocktail experience.

So whether you’re a seasoned chef or an experimental home cook, the Lychee Martini is a must-try. Not only does it offer a change from the well-trodden path of traditional comfort food, but it also brings a tropical flair to your dining table, making every meal an occasion.

What You’ll Need

  • 12 ounces of canned lychees in syrup
  • 1.5 cups of vodka
  • 1/4 cup of dry vermouth
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice
  • 6 lime slices for garnish
  • 6 lychees for garnish
  • Ice cubes
ALLERGENS: The recipe does not contain any known common allergens.

Method

Step One

First, drain the lychees while keeping the syrup aside. Then puree them in a blender until it’s smooth.

Step Two

Put the pureed lychees, vodka, vermouth, lime juice, and 1/4 cup of the lychee syrup in a large pitcher. Stir everything until it’s well-combined. You can add more lychee syrup if you prefer it sweeter.

Step Three

Fill six martini glasses with ice cubes. Pour the mixture from the pitcher into each glass, ensuring each has an equal amount. It’s important to do this right before you serve it to maintain its fresh taste and prevent it from getting watered down.

Step Four

For garnishing, place a lime slice and a lychee on each glass. Now your lychee martini is ready to be served and enjoyed!
